Instagram wants to make it easier to share Stories |
After Instagram platform introduced link stickers last week, Instagram released a new sticker called Add Your Content to Stories which allows users to ask others to reply to Story content in order to create more engaging response threads in the Story.
At the time of its global launch, the platform first tested the feature in Indonesia and Japan last month.
The platform describes the poster as a way to create a common thread in a story. He also noted that it was the first time that people had publicly participated in the story.
Stickers can inspire other people to upload stories and are a way to make new friends.
The user can add a new "Add Your" sticker to the "Story" window. When users reply, the stickers are added to the account bubbles list.
When the user clicks on the balloon, the user can also view any other responses in the thread. Building a chain reaction in the story can help increase engagement.
The poster is very similar to TikTok's Duet feature, which allows users to create content that includes original videos and respond interactively to content based on the original topic.
However, the difference is that you can see all the other posts in the content feed in one place. Although, Tik Tok does not currently display all the published Duet videos in one place.
The creativity of the TikTok community is a major factor in its appeal. So it's no wonder Instagram is now taking inspiration from its main competitors.
This tool can help Instagram increase engagement when users, especially young people, are losing out to competing platforms like TikTok.
Instagram lets you share Stories publicly for the first time
It is no coincidence that the screenshots shared by the company show that teens are taking full advantage of this feature. Since 2018, the platform has spent millions of dollars on advertising targeting teens in order to get them to use the platform.
The platform said in a tweet that personal prompts and public responses allow you to share stickers and see who responded in their own stories.
While ingesting or uploading content to a story, you can access new features by selecting the stickers tool in the top navigation.
From there, you can add your own poster to start a general topic. Or you can respond by clicking on the Add sticker and adding your own story to join the discussion thread.
The global availability of these new stickers is designed to allow users to collaborate and share their interests.
