The old Apple Watch charger does not support fast charging

Users of the new generation Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatches will need to use their own charger, which is magnetic fast charging, which is different from the older model that does not provide charging speeds similar to using the system.

The newly added fast charging system is one of the best features of the Apple Watch Series 7. The company claims that it can charge the watches up to 33% faster. It can also be charged to nearly 80% in about 45 minutes.

The old USB-C charger and the new model look the same. But only the new cable can charge the Series 7 at full speed. Assuming you have a USB-C charger that can provide enough power, the company recommends a 20W USB-C charger.

Just clip the plug to the back of the watch and the magnet will lock in place automatically.

However, the company has stopped selling older USB-C chargers that do not allow fast charging via its website. But it is still available from other retailers such as Amazon. Therefore, when looking for spare parts, be sure to purchase a suitable charger.

This also means that you won't be able to take advantage of the Series 7's faster charging capabilities if you have an Apple Watch charging base or charging base with a built-in charger.

The new Apple Watch is a useful option for new customers

As the company's website indicates, Fast Charge is only compatible with the Apple Watch Series 7. Other models have normal delivery times.

This doesn't mean the Series 7 won't charge when connected to an older Apple Watch charger, just because it can't use fast charging.

You can also use the new USB fast charging cable with older Apple Watch models. But it is sent at normal speed. In contrast, the Series 6 can be fully charged in an hour and a half.

Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399 and will be in physical stores starting October 15.
