Samsung officially launches the W22 5G phone |
Samsung has officially launched the W22 5G, the premium version of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Before the Galaxy Z Flip was debuted, the company had previously introduced the unlockable phone series with Android license plates.
But the W-series foldable phones mean something different than the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which uses a flexible foldable display to turn a 6.2-inch screen into a 7.6-inch tablet. In contrast, W series phones are unlockable Android phones.
Starting with the W20 5G in 2019, the company has made some significant changes to its product line. This year's W-Series phones have been upgraded to the ultra-durable Galaxy Fold, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, and 5G support.
Likewise, last year's W21 5G was an updated Galaxy Z Fold 2 with a slightly taller body, two SIM card slots, and a different-looking gold back with vertical stripes.
Elegance and meticulous detail, the company said on its website. The internal structure of the hinge is exquisite, and the external metal material is solid.
When it comes to promotional materials, Samsung takes pride in the craftsmanship and elegant design of the W22 5G. It also has a black gold embossed back. The Heart to the World logo is also gold.
With the same specifications as the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the W22 5G is equipped with an external 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 832 x 2268 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
From the inside, the device displays a 7.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1768 x 2208 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the phone works with One UI 3.1 user interface based on Android 11..
Samsung owns the premium version of the Galaxy Z Fold 3
This phone is powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor made by Samsung Semiconductor Factory with a 5nm process node. It also supports S Pen.
It has an IPX8 waterproof protection class, a side fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers.
It has a 4MP ground camera and a 10MP selfie camera on the front screen. The back is equipped with a triple camera of 12 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP.
This phone can record 4K video at 60 frames per second. Built-in 4400mAh battery, supports 25W fast charging, 15W fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
In addition to its great looks, the W22 5G also has additional storage as it has 16GB of RAM, while the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has 12GB internal. It also has a storage capacity of 256 GB.
Additionally, this phone does not have Google services that are blocked in China as the device costs $2,640.
The company's W-Series sales have always been limited in certain markets, and newer models are no exception. Hence, this new phone will not arrive in the US.
