Nova 9: Huawei's latest smartphone

Huawei said at an event in Vienna that Huawei Nova 9 will reach the global market within a month of its launch in the Chinese market. It did not join the larger Huawei Nova 9 Pro, which is still unique in China.

The company calls Huawei Nova 9 the flagship smartphone of the younger generation. Compared to Huawei Mate series (high-tech, high-quality) and Huawei P series (photography).

Pre-orders start today from €499. The company announced that this phone will go on sale on the 2nd of November.

The company has also provided updates on the status of the Huawei P50 Global Edition. The company announced its flagship phone for the Chinese domestic market in July.

The company said that the Huawei P50 will launch outside of China in 2022. It has been nearly two years since its predecessor, the Huawei P40, hit the market.

As Huawei continues to be on the US Entity List, Google apps or services, including the Google Play Store, will not be available when the Huawei Nova 9 is recharged, which significantly reduces its attractiveness outside the US.

Instead, it is powered by Huawei's Hongmeng OS, which shares many similarities with the open source Android version. Huawei's apps, services, and app store have replaced the Google version. The P50 could suffer the same fate.

Huawei's smartphone market share has shrunk

Huawei Nova 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, not one of the company's internal Kirin chips. This is because the company is facing problems in the production of Kirin.

Quad rear camera, 50 MP main lens, 8 MP ultra-wide angle, 2 MP depth of field, and 2 MP macro.
