Nokia launches G300: $199 for 5G cell phone |
HMD Global today announced the Nokia G300, the company's cheapest 5G smartphone to date. For just $199, the Nokia G300 gives you a large 6.5-inch screen, a Snapdragon 480 processor, 5G support, a big battery, and an almost raw Android experience.
Like the $199 REVVL V Plus 5G, the Nokia G300 doesn't try to impress you with its flagship specs. But it provides important useful features for you at an affordable price.
One of the most useful features of the Nokia G300 is the fingerprint reader. It's built into the power button so you can discreetly unlock the phone while pressing the same button to wake it up. You can also use your face to unlock the device.
The device has a large 4,470mAh battery that Nokia says can be used for about two days before it needs to be charged. The battery is charged via the 18W fast charger included in the box.
It also mixes some old and new technologies like a 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones, radio antennas, NFC and runs on Android 11.
The G300 is equipped with a 16-pixel rear-view camera with a larger f/1.8 aperture, a 2-pixel depth sensor, and a 5-pixel wide-angle camera with an f-aperture. There is an 8MP front camera that can handle selfies and video calls.
This phone can use Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) to record 1080p video at 60 frames per second to reduce natural hand shake.
The device has a 6.52-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, which is a very low resolution. The aspect ratio is 20:9.
Like the OnePlus Nord N200 5G, it comes with 64GB of internal storage. This means that you will need a microSD card to expand the storage capacity of this phone.
Nokia launches $199 5G phone
The G300 also uses the same 5G-enabled Snapdragon 480 processor as the OnePlus Nord N200 5G. There is 4 GB of RAM behind it.
Nokia G300 is ready for 5G networks. But it only handles benchmarks below 6 Hz. You can pre-order the Nokia G300 for $199 the same day the new Pixel 6 launches.
This mobile phone with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM will go on sale on October 19, 2021.
