Instagram lets you create posts together |
Instagram offers users a new way to collaborate on feed and reels posts. It also adds new AR-compatible features focused on music to encourage music engagement in the IG experience.
The platform announced Collabs, a new feature that allows users to share ownership of a single piece of wire or coil. Users can now invite others to collaborate using the post author tagging screen.
The user receives a notification about the collaboration request via a popup in the app, which also states that this collaborative version will appear in the user's profile grid when accepted and will be shown to each target group in the app (based on normal algorithm settings).
Two users also appear in the last post, and each user can access natural stats, including views, counts, and more.
The platform wants to emphasize that this is not a way to create content together, but to create posts or roles together.
This makes sense because the post is from one creator. However, the key message here is that this is not a collaborative publishing process like collaborative brand publishing, but a way to distinguish friends and maximize reach among shared connections around the world.
The Duet option in TikTok is way easier in this area. TikTok also requires users to tag other people in the title of their clips to generate interaction (Reels also has tips on tagging friends).
Instagram is trying to focus on group sharing
Instagram's collaborative elements do the same, allowing users to gain more influence and engagement by allowing a larger audience of each partner to view their posts.
Instagram offers its own branded content tags and collaboration tools for this type of partnership. So it is not a branding tool, it is for personal use.
Additionally, the platform also offers new music-centric authoring tools via Superbeat. This will add effects to the video that match the beat of the song as well as dynamic and 3D lyrics. This provides a new way to display song lyrics from video to video.
Due to the important role music plays in Tik Tok posts, Instagram likes to incorporate it. In August, the platform also added a new "Voice" tab to its search menu. This allows the user to find reels that use song samples.
