Apple introduces Find My for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max |
Apple has released firmware updates for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. If lost, it offers new ways to find expensive products.
This new software supports Find My for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, which the company first demonstrated at WWDC in June.
These features were originally promised in iOS 15 but did not appear at the time. But shortly thereafter, the company launched it.
You can use Apple's Find My app to check where your AirPods were last paired with your iPhone, or play a sound for easy exploration. But this new update greatly expands this functionality.
Now you can turn on Lost Mode and get millions of other iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices to see if your AirPods Pro or AirPods Max are lost.
If they are within the Bluetooth range of another Apple device, you will be reminded of their location. The company also added a "Find Nearby" user interface, such as: b. AirTags to keep track of your AirPods Pro or AirPods Max kits (when you know they exist).
And since there's no U1 chip in the earbuds or earphones, it's not as accurate as the AirTag. You can't see the arrow pointing at them. However, when you get close to it, the screen prompts will show the status from far, near or here.
Apple makes it easy to find AirPods Pro and AirPods Max
If you leave your AirPods somewhere, you can now receive notifications automatically. The Find My Network support page explains the different functions and how they work.
Apple still does not offer a direct way to update the firmware of AirPods. This happens randomly when the speaker is connected to the iPhone. However, you can check which version you want to use to see if you have the latest features:
Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
Click General, then click About.
Select AirPods and there you will see the Firmware Version box.
The new update with the improved "Find My" function is version 4A400. With regular AirPods, it's still limited to basic functions.
