Apple extends AirPods Pro repair plan
Apple extends AirPods Pro repair plan

Apple has expanded its AirPods Pro Repair Program, which offers free repair or replacement of noise-canceling headphones or audio issues that have been resolved.

Reddit users were first to discover the changes on the company's maintenance program support page, and it now appears that the program covers affected AirPods Pro devices three years after their initial retail sale, instead of just two. This page appears to have been updated in early October.

The support plan first launched in October 2020, a year after AirPods Pro first launched in 2019. This means that the company's repair plan will start after the launch unit's warranty period has expired.

And with the extension of the reform plan for three years. AirPods Pro purchased at launch must now be covered until October 2022.

The company said it fixed the following issues with AirPods Pro:

  •     In a noisy environment, during exercise or during a call, constant crackling or noises are amplified.
  •     Active noise cancellation does not work as expected. For example, loss of bass or increased background noise such as street noise or aircraft noise.

The "More Information" section of the page now states that customers who bought AirPods when they launched in 2019 will be able to enjoy October 2022 coverage if they experience this issue.

Those who bought AirPods Pro in 2020 before the patch was released in October 2020 will be able to get a repair service in 2023.

Apple is trying to please AirPods Pro users

If you have any of these problems. As part of the maintenance plan, you now have an additional year to take advantage of the free maintenance. This usually means that the company gives you the option to replace the product with a new one.

To do this, the company said that you need to contact the support team or authorized service provider. Or make an appointment at a store.

The company said AirPods Pro will be screened prior to service to verify eligibility of the program. Apple has confirmed that the wireless headphone case will not be replaced as it is not affected by the issue. This plan only applies to AirPods Pro, not AirPods or AirPods Max.
