Amazon made its first Alexa-enabled TV |
Amazon introduced the first Alexa-enabled TV built right into the device itself, which means you don't have to buy a separate device to take advantage of Alexa features.
You can also control this TV without the remote control as you can talk to it and give it directions.
This move is an evolution of what Amazon used to do when Fire TV sticks or cubes were sold and they needed a TV to work.
Worked with several TV manufacturers to install their Fire TV system and make it Alexa compatible.
The Omni Series TV differs from all the devices previously offered by Amazon in that it is a complete TV and not a component attached to the TV.
You can also control the TV directly using voice commands without a command or pressing the Aliska button.
Previously, you had to press the Alexa button on the remote control to activate voice commands and receive commands.
New Features on Amazon TV
Amazon TV uses a unique design with no visible bezels and uses an ultra-thin 4K screen to make it invisible.
The TV comes with its own external remote control, but you can use it without Alexa voice commands.
The TV has four microphones for sound recording. These microphones are located on top of the TV and are always ready to receive your voice.
And the company tried to place the voice recording device as far from the speakers as possible so that the voice of the voice assistant would not be confused and accurately heard.
You can turn off these microphones at any time using the dedicated button on the bottom of the TV to protect your privacy.
With voice commands, Alexa can do it all as you can switch between different TV channels or radio sources.
Thus, you can ask Alexa to switch from Live TV to Xbox, etc.
You can also make video calls from the TV and connect an external camera to it using the USB port on the back.
However, this camera is not suitable for normal video chat applications, you only need Alexa to make these calls.
Amazon uses high-quality TV chips that can reproduce colors as clearly and accurately as any leading TV from other companies.
This means that with Amazon's advanced voice assistant, you can use it as a regular TV instead of a smart TV, and the device is compatible with all Amazon smart home devices.
Alexa TV Cons
There have been reports that users encountered problems after talking to Alexa and asking to read a series or certain content.
According to Amazon, these bugs or issues are caused by the way different apps handle Alexa and how they archive content, and Alexa is still working hard to learn voice commands, adapt to voice commands, and play content on TV.
But the system interface is still the biggest problem with the new Amazon TV, as the interface is displayed in 1080p and the TV runs entirely in 4K.
Amazon proves this by lowering the resolution of the system so that it runs better, faster and users don't have any problems.
A group of users also complained about ads suddenly appearing in the user interface while viewing certain works.
Amazon said this is part of how it pricing the TV and also part of its revenue stream, but since the price of the TV is close to $1,000, it's considered unacceptable.
