Acer launches Windows 11 PC for gamers |
Acer updated its Nitro 5 line of gaming laptops in the second half of 2021. Given the $1,200 price tag, its new 17.3-inch model, launched in mid-October, is particularly impressive.
The company will launch two Nitro-5 models, including the AN515-57 and AN515-54, which will bring gamers the latest technology and operating system from Microsoft.
The computer uses a 1080p screen, a 144Hz refresh rate and is equipped with an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050Ti graphics chip.
The company did not reveal the CPU model or the maximum graphics processing capabilities of the GPU. Other specs are 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB SSD. It looks like a powerful gaming laptop.
For those who want a slightly smaller size, the company is also offering a 15.6-inch version which will be available for $770 from mid-October. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate screen, however, it comes with an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and 256GB SSD storage.
In terms of graphics, it is equipped with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. The device should still be able to run light games. But it could be worse than what a 17.3-inch device can do.
Both models have an Ethernet port and a Thunderbolt 4 port as well as three USB-A ports, an HDMI output, a 3.5 mm jack, and a Kensington slot.
Asus is committed to sustainability
Acer has made some minor design tweaks to the latest Nitro 5 that will differentiate it from the model in early 2021.
The charger is now attached to the right side of the laptop instead of to the back. The hood and chassis seem to have a more durable body.
The company also launched the Aspire Vero, which is sustainable software that can be used in Windows 11. Environmentally friendly, the EPEAT Silver certified Aspire Vero uses recycled PCR plastic, 100% recyclable packaging, an Intel 11 processor and keyboard.
It has an Irix-Xe graphics card and up to 512GB of M.2 SSD storage. It also features a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display and AI noise cancellation for clarity in video calls.
The computer is equipped with Intel Wi-Fi 6, a USB Type-C port, two USB 3.2 ports, and an HDMI 2.0 port for video output. The keyboard is designed to make people think about recycling and the environment. The "R" and "E" keys have a yellow background. Aspire Vero starts at $700.
