Surface Pro 8 has a refresh rate of 120Hz |
Microsoft is gearing up to launch its new Surface Pro 8 model next week, and the leak seems to reveal the predictions.
The Shadow_Leak Twitter account posted an image of the device, which appears to be a retail offering.
The device claims that the device comes with a new 13-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, narrow bezels on both sides and two Thunderbolt ports.
According to reports from earlier this month, the device lacks a USB-A port and is being replaced by USB-C and Thunderbolt ports.
This is the first time that Microsoft supports Thunderbolt on all Surface devices. For security reasons, it has opened up a new way to play games via an external GPU, along with many other use cases.
The news also mentioned that Microsoft is testing a 120Hz refresh rate display for the Surface Po series, and the leaked images and specifications are consistent with previously announced information.
The leak also indicates that Microsoft is moving to a cross-device removable SSD. This is the same as the Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Pro X, so the company can easily swap out the drive.
Microsoft is hosting a Surface event on Wednesday
Surface Pro is the flagship of Surface and has been around since the introduction of Windows 8 in 2012.
The new device is not likely to see any major design changes as the company has made it clear to the company that it will retain the overall design of the port connections and hardware to make them compatible with the platform and accessories.
The company introduced the latest 11th generation Intel chipset for the new device. It works on Windows 11.
Microsoft is hosting a Surface Hardware event on September 22nd. The company is expected to launch its new Surface Pro 8, Surface Go 3, Surface Book 4, updated Surface Pro X, and the successor to the Android-powered Surface Duo.
The media invited people to read at the hardware event: the company was talking about hardware and Windows 11. The Surface Duo will also include a triple camera system with an ultra-wide angle, telephoto lenses, and standard lenses.
