Samsung releases watch straps made of apple peel |
Samsung has launched 6 limited edition bracelets for the Galaxy Watch 4 series, made of recyclable and eco-friendly materials such as apple peel.
The series was created in collaboration with fashion designer Sami Miro, whose previous series used recycled materials. The bracelet starts at $39.99.
The set contains 6 models. Midnight Black and Stratus Sky Stratus are made from 100% apple peel sourced from the fruit industry.
The company claims that the material has the appearance of high-quality leather, but it is clear that it does not come from animals.
The Aurora Night, Cloud Navy, Earth Sunrise, and Dawn Atlas belts are made of thermoplastic polyurethane, which Samsung says is recyclable.
Each limited edition bracelet is designed for different occasions. According to the designer, colors such as Stratus Sky, Cloud Navy and Midnight Black are suitable for any time of the day. Night Aurora and Atlas Dawn are suitable for special occasions.
In addition to the bracelet, the company has also released a set of three free watch faces for SMV Atlas I, SMV Serenity, and SMV Atlas II for download from the Google Play Store.
The most durable option is always to use the bracelet that came with the smartwatch. However, when purchasing an aftermarket bracelet, it is good to know that efforts have been made to reduce the impact on the environment.

We hope that the company's future smartwatches will use these materials by default, rather than just optional accessories.
The company uses sustainable materials in its packaging, and as of last year, its offices in the US, China and Europe were powered by 100% renewable energy. But there is still a lot of work to be done to reduce the environmental impact of the devices themselves, particularly in terms of repairability.
The series is inspired by the beauty and colors of Mother Earth to remind people to prioritize sanity, health, wellness and sustainability every day.
This is in line with the health concerns of the Galaxy Watch 4, which can measure oxygen, pressure, water consumption and sleep patterns. It also has fitness features such as training exercises, group challenges, etc., or set up a home gym by connecting your Galaxy Watch 4 to a compatible Samsung Smart TV.
