Audi has unveiled its Grandsphere Concept Car, a spacious electric vehicle that brings the future to the wealthy, where the wealthy will drive self-driving cars that resemble luxury living spaces.
The company advertises the Grandsphere as a "special street plane." Although it can't fly, the German automaker says it has developed electric cars for luxury private travel.
The car is designed in such a way that it can adapt to your preferred driving style. If you feel like driving alone, the steering wheel and pedals disappear and you sit in a simple room with wood paneling and woolen fabrics.
The car's operating system is not a screen, but rather is displayed on the surface of the wooden dashboard under the windshield. When you are ready to drive alone, a manual override will appear.
The Grandsphere is Audi's second concept car in the three-car series, and the German automaker says the concept is redesigning mobility as we know it today.
The first concept vehicle is the Skysphere, a convertible electric vehicle with an adjustable chassis.
The company used the term "Sphere" in the name of its concept vehicle to symbolize the space inside the vehicle for the driver and passengers.
The company said it is working with CARIAD, the software research center of Volkswagen's parent company, to develop some of the technologies it is showing off with the Grandsphere and other concepts.
The automaker believes these features will be ready for mainstream vehicles by the second half of this century.

Audi sees Level 4 autonomous driving as an opportunity to redefine the car's interior, i.e. H. The car can drive itself under certain conditions without human intervention.
Other automakers such as BMW, Volvo and Hyundai have come up with similar ideas that transform the interior into a place where we work, eat, sleep and socialize.
The company describes its Grandsphere concept as a first-class lounge with the largest footprint. The optics should also convey similar luxury.
Its slim profile differs from most cars and its wheelbase is longer than the current Audi A8L. The automaker said it was trying to match the sedan's look to a four-door GT.
The sloping arch of the roofline is reminiscent of the sporting tradition of Audi. The company's next concept is the Urbansphere, which automakers describe as a private space in an urban environment. But this car will not be released until 2022.
This concept car represents a goal for the Volkswagen private label as it focuses on electric and self-driving cars.
Audi plans to offer electric cars only after putting the last petrol car on the market from 2026 to 2033.
