Apple launched iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max |
Apple has officially announced the latest additions to the iPhone 13 series: iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Both phones feature a faster A15 Bionic chip, three new cameras, and an improved 120Hz ProMotion display with up to 1,000 nits of brightness.
The iPhone 13 Pro price starts at $999 while the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1,099. Both can be ordered on Friday and shipped September 24th. These phones come in four colors: graphite, gold, silver and the new light blue.
Both Super Retina XDR display models support different refresh rates between 10Hz and 120Hz, and the dimensions are the same as last year's at 6.1 and 6.7 inches. However, the slightly smaller bump should leave more space in the iOS status bar.
Both devices use the new A15 electronic chip, which delivers the usual CPU and GPU speeds compared to last year. The company also said that the slice of machine learning tasks is expected to be faster.
This is the third year that Apple has split its flagship line of mobile products into mainstream and business devices. Over the past year, many reviewers have indicated that there is not much difference between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12.
While the iPhone 12 Pro has an extra telephoto lens, a lidar sensor, and more RAM and storage, it doesn't. But the basic design, processor, 5G features, and OLED display are just like the regular iPhone 12 (if not quite the same).

The company said that these phones come with a new triple-camera system. Ultra wide angle cameras are said to enable better low-light photography. The ultra-wide-angle camera should also be improved by the larger aperture.
The zoom lens has now been increased to 3 times, so that it is possible to zoom in/out optically by 6 times using all three cameras. All three cameras now have a night mode, as well as a new macro mode, with which you can shoot subjects from a distance of 2 cm. Both models include optical image stabilization by moving the sensor.
In terms of software, the company announced a new photography-style feature that is somewhat similar to a traditional camera filter but with some computer imaging features. On the video page, the Cinema Focus function announced for the iPhone 13 is also available on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 Pro can also record up to 4K at 30 frames per second in ProRes, a high-quality video format that gives video editors more control when editing footage after recording.
However, the base 128GB storage option achieves 1080p resolution at 30fps. The company announced that it will introduce ProRes support in a future iOS 15 update.
Battery life has also been improved and iPhone 13 Pro battery life is 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro battery life. When charged, iPhone 13 Pro Max lasts 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Storage options on the iPhone 12 Pro range from 128GB to 1TB, which is the largest storage the company has ever put into a mobile phone. 5G performance has also been improved to support more frequency bands, and Apple said it should offer better coverage.
