Twitter makes it easier for other apps to locate spaces |
Twitter has released a new API update that allows third-party developers to develop tools, apps, and services for audio space products, providing more opportunities to increase cross-platform conversations.
The main goal of the new update is to make it easier to discover Spaces, which is one of the tool's most popular developers features.
"Over the past few months, we've had regular conversations with people in our developer community and people who use Spaces to understand which API features should be developed first," Twitter said. One of the most popular features that we have heard about is the one that allows users to discover areas of interest and set memories.
Therefore, the first phase of the new API v2 update allows developers to search for sites directly or in advance using criteria such as site ID, user ID information, or keywords.
"By researching Spaces, we hope to enable developers to create tools and solutions that help people on and off Twitter find interesting and relevant spaces more easily," the company added. It also benefits Spaces hosts by making conversations easier to find and attracting more engaged listeners to join Spaces.

Exploration is the core of the next stage of space development. Because if you can't choose the quality and streaming that suits your interests, live audio can quickly become boring.
When Twitter can encourage the broader development of improved discovery options. This allows more space to be used. It also provides more detailed instructions on how to improve Space Detection in the Pending Spaces tab. This increases ease of use.
The platform did not say when the new label would be available to all users. However, the platform tries to display the most valuable chat tabs for each app user in real time.
The company said, “We are exploring capabilities that will allow developers to create tools and solutions specific to host spaces.” For example, we are considering exposing some metric fields through APIs. This allows developers to create analytics dashboards and other performance measurement tools for Host Spaces.
"We're also exploring a number of key points where developers can help integrate the creation of upcoming audio room reminders into their tools," she added. Both the participants and the host benefit from this.
