Tesla delays production of the Cybertruck until 2022 |
Tesla has confirmed that its Cybertruck electric truck has been pushed back to 2022 after hinting in previous months that production could be delayed. This can be found on the order page on the company's website.
When the company launched Cybertruck in 2019, it said electric pickup trucks would hit the market by the end of 2021.
Over the past year, as the schedule approaches, there are signs that Cybertruck may be delayed. The company recently completed the engineering design of an electric truck.
CEO Elon Musk also warned that because of its features, Tesla will face some challenges when the Cybertruck goes into production. For example, an external steel structure that requires a new manufacturing process.
Despite these concerns and the looming 2021 schedule, Tesla doesn't seem ready to say that Cybertruck production has been delayed.
When it released its Q2 2021 financial results last month, the company kept the same schedule, stating that it would start manufacturing the Cybertruck at the Gigafactory in Texas after the Model Y.
We're also making progress with Cybertruck," Tesla said. Production of the Model Y will begin at the Texas Gigafactory at the end of this year.
However, a few weeks later, the company confirmed that the Cybertruck has been pushed back to 2022. On the order page, the company has updated the information to confirm that the car will be close to series production in 2022.
Repeat the same note for all three Cybertruck models. Although the company previously said that the best two- and three-engine models come first.
The company also did not mention Cybertruck's opening times on its website.

A race is currently underway to bring the first electric truck to the US market. Tesla has never been considered the most likely competitor to enter the market.
However, it is not the only company that has delays. Rivian recently postponed production of its R1T electric truck from July to September.
Lordstown is also facing the problem of bringing electric trucks to market. General Motors is expected to launch an electric Hummer in the United States by the end of the year. Ford will launch the F150 Lighting next year.
However, the delay from Cybertruck was to be expected. But it disappointed a lot of people as Tesla is said to have more than 1 million reservations for the Cybertruck.
