Microsoft released a new update for Paint before Windows 11 |
Microsoft is reapplying Paint for the new operating system, giving it a fresh look and more accessible menus.
The company announced a visual update to the Drawing & Photos app that introduces a new, modern user interface that reflects the design language of Windows 11.
Paint has been around since Windows was first released in November 1985. It seems the company isn't ready to end the photo editor.
The new look of Windows and Microsoft apps is said to have appeared a long time ago, especially since the Metro interface and ribbon menus are outdated.
The company creates new builds for nearly every major Windows 11 app. The list includes clocks, recorders, calculators, office suites, notebooks, photos, and even graphics.
Paint has abandoned the traditional Fluent title bar, similar to the new File Explorer. It is compatible with the rest of the Windows 11 operating systems.
Windows 11 Paint now has a simplified toolbar. The current tape interface has been replaced by a new title called "Fluent". It has all the important options like files, mods, brushes, etc.
The tip is a simple icon for basic tasks like switching between brushes and pencils, copying and pasting, and more.
The Undo and Redo buttons now appear next to the file and display options in the header. The app now has rounded corners and WinUI controls as part of the Windows 11 extension.
Paint doesn't seem to have any new features or improvements. The updates are all for a new look. However, we may learn more about this update later this year.
Photos app also got a new interface, optimization, and better performance. It also offers a new editing experience with floating editing tools on the image, similar to the Android or iOS apps.
Microsoft gives Paint a new update
The company will begin rolling out updated core apps for Windows 11 in the coming weeks to receive customer feedback.
In addition to these applications, the company is also developing new Outlook and Microsoft Teams programs for Windows 11. These applications are based on the Microsoft Edge WebViewer engine.
Microsoft Teams 2.0 is now available to Windows Insiders. The redesigned Outlook (preview) will be published later this year.
The software giant is also planning to roll out Windows 11 22H2 (a feature update for next year) in the Windows Insider development channel. However, new features may not be included in the first release.
