| ASUS launches 18GB RAM smartphone |
Taiwanese tech giant Asus has officially unveiled its latest flagship gaming smartphone ROG Phone 5S in Taiwan.
ROG Phone 5s launched with ROG Phone 5s Pro, the two best gaming smartphones to date.
Not only does the FHD AMOLED display support a 144Hz refresh rate, the Pro version also includes the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset with up to 18GB of memory.
The new smartphone is the successor to the ROG Phone 5 that was introduced a few months ago.
Both models retain Samsung's 6.78-inch AMOLED E4 HDR display with a resolution of 2448 x 1080 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone screen supports a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz and a delay of 1ms.
The company offers up to 18GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage via the ROG Phone 5s Pro.
In terms of appearance, ROG Phone 5s adopts the same design as ROG Phone 5, with the RGB illuminated ROG logo.
On the other hand, ROG Phone 5s Pro uses the ROG Vision Color PMOLED display. The ROG logo on the back is RGB backlit. The screens of both models are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
There is a 64-pixel rear lens with a Sony IMX686 sensor, 0.8-micron pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, a 13-pixel wide-angle lens with an f/2.4 aperture and a 125-degree field of view and a 5-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
There is a 24-megapixel front camera with a size of 0.9 µm and an aperture of f / 2.0.
ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro run Android 11 through the ROG user interface.

This phone supports two SIM cards, two front balanced speakers, Dirac HD audio and GameFX. And a subwoofer with Cirrus Logic subwoofer delivers higher, deeper sound effects and lower distortion.
It is also equipped with four microphones with OZO noise canceling technology. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack which is great for those looking to connect a wired gaming headset.
More importantly, the phone uses a fingerprint sensor integrated at the bottom of the screen, an AirTrigger 5 ultrasonic sensor, and grip strength detection.
It also supports Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and NFC. Both phones come with 6000mAh batteries that can be quickly charged at 65W HyperCharge via the USB Type-C port.
The 16GB + 256GB version of the ROG Phone 5s starts at $1,075. The 18GB + 512GB version costs $1220. It is available in phantom black and twilight white.
On the other hand, the retail price of the ROG Phone 5s Pro 18GB + 512GB version is $1,365. It is available in phantom black. AeroActive Cooler 5 is also included in the device.
