Apple is developing a widescreen iPhone for under $900 |
According to a report by famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will consider making a bigger and cheaper iPhone for those who can't afford the iPhone Pro Max series.
As the name suggests, the iPhone 14 Max, along with the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, will make up the iPhone range in 2022.
The iPhone 14 Max could have the same characteristics as the smaller iPhone. But there is a 6.7-inch tire.
An improved camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens capable of autofocus is also expected.
It could also have an upgraded screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, as seen in the iPhone 13 Pro series.
Apple has increased the number of iPhones shipped. From the two iPhone 6 models to the three iPhone 8 models to the four iPhone 12 series models.
Apple is expected to continue to release four models, this year's iPhone 13 series will follow the iPhone 12 series, and the 2022 iPhone series is expected to replace the iPhone Mini and upgrade to iPhone Max.
The iPhone 12 mini is said to have been canceled due to its poor performance compared to other iPhones. It is worth noting that Apple plans to de-confirm the iPhone 13 mini in 2021.
Apple developed an affordable iPhone with a large screen
The transition between the two is not surprising because the larger iPhone has always been the best seller. iPhone 12 Pro Max makes the iPhone 12 series the best-selling of all iPhone series except iPhone 6.
Market research firm Counterpoint Research said: In the first seven months after the launch of the iPhone 12 series, consumers preferred the higher version of the iPhone 12 series. The Pro Max version accounted for about 29% of iPhone 12 series sales, while the iPhone 11 series of the same model accounted for 25% .
She added: This is one of the reasons why the iPhone 12 series made 22% more profits than the iPhone 11 series in the first seven months after its launch.
Cheap big phones sell well. Manufacturers trying to break into markets outside Europe and the United States are investing in big screens for cheap phones.
When Apple releases an affordable widescreen iPhone 14 Max. It will likely compete better with some of the cheaper Android phones.
