xCloud is receiving a support upgrade for Xbox Series X |
Microsoft promised on June 10 that it is in the final stages of upgrading its xCloud datacenter to Xbox Series X.
After about two weeks, it looks like you are able to play games on this new device.
Some xCloud games now have improved graphics options in their settings menus that are only available on Xbox Series X, or load faster than before through xCloud.
You can see the updated graphics settings in Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Rainbow Six Siege.
Also, Dirt 5 loads very quickly and there is not much lag in games.
On the other hand, Forza Horizon 4 doesn't seem to work on upgraded xCloud devices because the latency is much worse than Dirt 5 and the game loading speed is much slower.
Microsoft has not released a statement confirming that the new server hardware has been activated. But she promised that there would be news about her soon.
XCloud Upgrade:
We are constantly testing new features and making improvements to create a better xCloud gaming experience,” Microsoft said. We will publish more information about Microsoft data center upgrades soon.
On June 10, Microsoft also announced that xCloud, which is currently available only as an invite-only experience, will be available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members through the browser in the coming weeks.
During the E3 event, Microsoft also announced that xCloud will land on Xbox One. This means that older generation devices will be able to play next generation games like Microsoft Flight Simulator via the cloud.
Earlier this week, the company announced plans to develop custom games for the cloud. Microsoft has hired Kim Swift, the former design director of Google Stadia, known for the popular gaming portal.
Games that you can play through cloud services do not apply to cloud. It is designed to work on existing platforms and computers.
So the advantages of the cloud are faster load times, no need to install higher games and graphics.
