Twitter is about to launch Super Follows |
Twitter announced earlier this year that it is developing a superior tracking feature that will allow some users to recharge their followers and give them access to additional content.
App researcher Jane Manchun Wong tweeted a screenshot of the feature training, she said.
According to the researchers, Super Follow is limited to Twitter users with 10,000 followers or more.
In addition, users must have posted at least 25 tweets in the last 30 days. You are at least 18 years old.
As pointed out by Twitter, additional content such as exclusive tweets from older fans is one of the main features of Super Follows.
Wong also discovered a list of content categories that Super Follows users chose to describe their content, eg b. Sports or podcasts.
She noted that adult and fan-only content are listed as content platforms along with Facebook, YouTube, Substack, Patreon and Twitch.
Twitter has developed several functions:
Twitter declined to comment on Wong's latest research. However, he previously described Patreon's Super Follows feature as a subscription.
She gave an example: Super Follows users charge users $4.99 for access per month.
This is the latest direct payment feature that Twitter has launched in the past few weeks, and the drinking glass head feature began testing in May.
The tip feature allows users to make a one-time payment directly to content creators via Twitter. This is done by clicking on the dollar symbol in the Twitter account.
Twitter does not accept any portion of Tip Jar donations that support multiple payment methods including PayPal, Cash App, and Venmo.
It is not clear how to organize payments to premium subscribers. But Twitter seems to have a certain percentage.
The platform team has been very busy this year and has rolled out several new features including the subscription service Twitter Blue which is currently being tested in Canada and Australia.
Blue badge verification has reopened and the warning about potentially abusive tweets has been updated.
Additionally, the platform has improved its image cropping algorithm to allow full viewing of longer images in the user stream.
It added the ability to search direct messages for Android users and acquired Scroll, a $5 monthly subscription service that can remove ads from participating websites.
