| The world's fastest electric bike has new competitors |
With a fast charging model with a range of 320 km, electric motorcycles now offer a viable alternative to the combustion engine.
But a little-known British company wants to make future e-bikes faster.
To achieve this goal, White Motorcycle Concepts has developed a unique prototype that they believe can break speed records.
After two years of development, the company launched an electric motorcycle with two-wheel drive and a hydraulic drive.
The current record holder and former world champion Max Biaggi rides the world's fastest Voxan Wattman electric motorcycle and cuts two tracks in opposite directions at a top speed of 408 km/h with an average speed of 367 km/h.
As the name of the WMC250EV prototype suggests, it can far exceed this speed.
The bike has a hatch that runs from front to back. According to the manufacturer, this duct system called V-Air makes it "the most aerodynamic motorcycle in the world".
According to data tested at MIRA's Horiba plant in the UK, the WMC250EV reduces drag by 70% by pushing air into the center of the bike rather than around it.

The lower half contains the electric motor and battery. The prototype also uses a two-link suspension.
The rear wheels are powered by two 30 kW electric motors via chains. Two 20 kW electric motors drive the front wheels. They have a total of 100 kW or 134 hp.
The bike is powered by a 15 kW lithium-ion battery. Most components are made of carbon or aluminum.
While the technology will be made available to the masses, this particular concept is entirely designed for its passenger Rob White.
White is a motorsport veteran and has driven Formula 1 cars, Le Mans models, V8 supercars and the World Endurance Championship. Its blueprint was laser scanned to build the bike frame.
The technology is currently being tested at a standard demonstration of a semi-aero electric motorcycle in the UK later this year. It follows the world record in 2022.
White believes that a bike weighing 300 kilograms can reach speeds of more than 400 kilometers per hour. It has an aerodynamic appearance.
