The new Snapchat update fixes the crash |
Snapchat encountered an error and had to close it while it was running, but the company quickly fixed the problem by posting updates on the App Store.
This issue seems to only affect the iOS version of Snapchat, and Android users have not encountered the same issue.
The bug appears to have been included in a maintenance update released on June 28 to address several bugs encountered by users of the messaging system.
After several Snapchat users complained about the bugs on Twitter, the issue first popped up with a message: There was a problem - please try again later and try to start the app as well.
After a few tweets about this issue, Snapchat VP producer Jacob Andrew responded by letting everyone know that the bug had been fixed.
The Snapchat team stated that they know the issue and have advised users to wait until the issue is resolved.
An update recently added to the Apple App Store appears to fix this issue, and the update will likely be released soon after the app's product team becomes aware of how many people the bug is affecting.
Snapchat crashed
There was a problem with the app before updating to the latest version 11.34.1.35. Application version 11.34.0.35 crashes on opening.
Snap typically releases new App Store updates every week, many of which focus on bug fixes and performance improvements.
If the update is not automatically downloaded to your phone, you can go to the App Store, tap your account picture in the upper right corner and scroll down to update.
All available updates should be displayed and you can download them. If you have deactivated automatic updates to avoid errors, you can reactivate them in Settings and in the App Store. Then open the app update under the automatic download.
