Tesla is shipping the first batch of 25 Model S cars |
At an event hosted by CEO Elon Musk in Fremont, California, 25 customers received a restyled Tesla Model S. The automaker stated that the cost of this new version will be $130,000.
The Model S Plaid was first launched in January. The vehicle was originally scheduled to be delivered in March. It is the fastest production car ever and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds.
It should have a range of about 630 kilometers. Tesla sells a less powerful version of the modified Model S with a range of 665 km and a starting price of $80,000.
"We have to prove that electric cars are the best cars," Musk said. It should be clear that sustainable energy vehicles can be the fastest, safest and most exciting cars in every respect.
Musk announced on June 6 that Tesla has canceled its most expensive new Model S, the Plaid Plus.
This version starts at around $150,000 and can cover 835 kilometers fully charged.
This version is also said to be powered by the new Tesla 4680 lithium-ion battery.

The redesigned Model X was released in January. But the delivery of the new SUV was delayed by several months. Musk did not mention the updated SUV.
Musk previously refuted rumors of the redesigned Model S and X in 2019, saying there is no updated Model S and X.
On the contrary, Musk said, Tesla is always making small improvements to these two cars. However, in recent years, sales of these two cars have plummeted due to Tesla's focus on the Model 3 and the Model Y.
The modified version is an opportunity to increase the sales of these classic cars. The company has enough confidence in the new Model S Plaid and previously raised the base price by $10,000.
Musk stated that Tesla plans to ship hundreds of Model S plaids each week and could reach 1,000 a week in the next quarter.
The new Model S marks the car's first overhaul since its launch in 2012. This makes Tesla the best electric car manufacturer in the world.
Not much has changed in terms of appearance design. However, significant changes were made internally.
The Model S now has a 17-inch horizontal touchscreen and smaller bezels. There is a digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel.
The third screen is behind the center console for the rear passengers. Tesla introduced a new on-screen user interface with drag-and-drop elements and other improvements.
There are other improvements, such as more room for rear passengers and a wireless phone charger in the back seat.
