Microsoft Edge makes it easy to share pages between devices |
In April, Microsoft Edge supported sharing of canary channel tags on desktop computers and mobile devices.
After months of testing, the Microsoft Edge browser has been updated to allow tags to be shared with regular customers across channels.
The Share tab allows you to read web pages on your computer and then send them to your laptop or smartphone.
Useful tools in Microsoft Edge allow you to send tabs to different devices without having to sync bookmarks or email URLs with yourself.
It is currently rolling out to a small group of users in stable channels on Windows 10 and Mac.
To try it out, open any webpage, click the address bar, and then select the "Send this page" option.
This allows you to send the current page to a supported device that is currently signed in with a Microsoft account.
The receiving device receives instant notifications with the name and URL of the Microsoft Edge browser webpage.
You can also right-click on the link and select the device you want to share the link with. If you right-click on the link, you will see the phone and laptop icon which you can click to send the link to the selected device.
If you are not using the Microsoft Edge browser on multiple devices, you will not see this option.
Microsoft Edge makes sharing easy:
In the stable version v91.0.864.54, the tab sharing tool appears to be available to a small number of users. It could be rolled out to more users in the coming days.
It's also worth noting that tab sharing is currently limited to the desktop. If you want to cast tabs to your Android or iPhone, you will need to download and install the Microsoft Edge browser version from Canary or Dev Channels on your phone.
Microsoft introduced this feature a little late. Google Chrome and Firefox updated the similar tag sending functionality in 2019. Safari has also included iCloud tabs for several years.
In addition to approving the tab, Microsoft is also committed to improving the integrated offline browser game Surf.
Microsoft Edge's navigation tool is designed for users with Internet connectivity issues and encourages players to surf the web while avoiding obstacles or sea monsters.
Microsoft is also testing new font display controls for the Windows 10 browser.
