Twitter has restarted its public review process so anyone can apply for the blue review flag.
The company has also investigated possible account changes and upcoming automatic naming of accounts.
Users must meet the renewed verification criteria, which includes having a public interest account that falls under one of six different types of ratings in addition to being authentic, unique, and active.
Here are six types of accounts that can benefit from verification:
- Government.
- Companies, brands and organizations.
- Press organizations and journalists.
- entertainment.
- Sports and games.
- Activists, organizers, and other influential people.
You can submit a confirmation request from the Account Settings tab in the next few weeks.
Once submitted, Twitter will say: You can get a response in a few days, but depending on the number of requests, the delay can be several weeks.
Twitter said: All inquiries will be checked by employees. If the review process is approved, the blue badge will automatically appear on your account.
If Twitter does not accept your application but you still believe you qualify for the badge, you can re-apply within 30 days of the company's decision.
The social network suspended the trial in November 2017 after the trial was widely criticized for receiving a blue verification badge on the accounts of white enthusiasts.
The company admitted at the time that the purpose of the audit had become elusive. It was supposed to be a way to verify the identity of the account, but over time, the badge was seen to be similar to identifying Twitter itself.

A new verification policy was introduced in January 2021 and all the above six account classes are available for verification.
Under the January 2021 rules, accounts must have an email address or phone number and a picture and verified account name in order to be eligible.
Accounts can also lose badges for serious or repeated violations of Twitter's rules.
