Toshiba launches TV with Amazon Fire TV interface |
Toshiba introduced a new option to purchase a new Fire TV as this Japanese company launched a line of Smart Fire TVs with an integrated Fire TV experience.
Toshiba C350 Series introduces new TVs in 5 sizes.
Amazon and Best Buy launched the 43-inch and 50-inch models for $ 350 and $ 470, respectively, but they won't be available until May 13 at the earliest.
Although the company has not yet published a date, Toshiba will also sell 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch TVs in the future.
The new Smart Fire TV has a narrower front panel than the previous Toshiba model with 4 HDMI ports, 4 HDMI HDCP 2.2 inputs, and 2 USB ports (both USB 2.0).
These devices also have UHD 4K resolution supported by Toshiba Regza Engine 4K and support Dolby Vision, HDR10 and 60Hz refresh rates.
There is a digital optical audio output and a composite video input. The device supports RF antenna input, integrated wireless network, Ethernet connection, as well as headphone and bluetooth connectivity.
Because these devices are supported by the Amazon Fire OS, they have the features Fire TV has come to expect, including the ability to display video from compatible video bells or other cameras through on-screen content.
You can also use voice commands to quickly change sound and picture settings. For example, you could say: Aleska adjusts picture mode to movie or Alexa adjusts the bass volume at level 3.
You can also use the supplied audio remote control to control the operation of compatible AV receivers and headphones.
These devices were originally intended to have an outdated Fire TV interface, but when it rolls out to older models this summer, it will have a redesigned UI.
The updated user interface looks new and contains user accounts so that up to six family members can customize their experience.
