| McLaren unveils its Artura hybrid |
McLaren has been making light and fast supercars for nearly 60 years, but the company didn't put one of its HPH models into production until 2021.
The company launched a $ 225,000 worth of hybrid car called the Artura. It is the first model from a British automaker to use the MCLA platform.
Compared to other McLaren cars, the platform reduces the weight of the cables used in the electrical system by 10% and provides an overall weight of 1498 kg, including a battery with a capacity of 7.4 kW.
McLaren has not specified what type of charging system the Artura will be compatible with, but it is estimated that charging the battery with a standard EVSE cable will only take 2.5% to 80%.
The powertrain is powered by a new McLaren V6 ICE engine with two turbochargers, which can generate 577 hp and 584 Nm of torque.
Compared to the company's conventional V8, the M630 can reduce weight by 50 kg and shorten the length by a few inches.
Coupled with an electric motor with axial current of 94 PS and 225 Nm, which can propel the Artura up to 30 km with electricity alone or achieve acceleration from 0-100 km / h in 3.0 seconds with a V6, the maximum speed is controllable of 330 km / h.

Although the Artura is clearly designed for the avid driving enthusiast, the vehicle offers many comfort and driver assistance functions.
The dual-screen infotainment system mirrors Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and offers traditional McLaren apps for telemetry and variable drift control, as well as an improved display of the center console navigation map.
The infotainment system can be switched to stealth mode. If you want to set everything up and drive, all relevant vehicle data will be minimized and hidden from your view.
Artura also offers several ADAS functions, including adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane departure warning, high beam assist, and traffic light recognition. As Artura enables aerodynamic software updates, more functions will be added in the future.
The new McLaren plug-in hybrid is expected to appear later this year after its launch in the third quarter of this year.
