HTC Vive Pro 2 launched with 5K resolution |
HTC released the Vive Pro 2, an update to recent virtual reality glasses that contains many small improvements that are worth improving.
Vive competes with Oculus in the VR market, Oculus Quest 2 gets an easy-to-use and affordable VR look, and HTC Vive reaches the professional level for virtual reality with the Vive Pro 2.
The new screen represents the biggest change as it now offers 5K resolution (or 2448 x 2448 pixels per eye), a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 120 degree field of view.
In contrast, the original 2018 Vive Pro glasses have a resolution of 2880 x 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a field of view of 110 degrees, which means that the world of virtual reality occupies a greater portion of the field of your glasses. Show. .
The new Vive Pro 2 also supports broadcast or DSC display compression in a virtual reality headset for the first time. DSC is the most common optical standard in high-end displays.
HTC said: Vive Pro 2 has less motion blur. The company also stated that it eliminated many of the overlapping lines in the old virtual reality glasses known as the screen window effect.
No matter where the screen is located, the Vive Pro 2 has the usual ergonomic features of high-end glasses, including adjustable straps, a fast zoom wheel, and an adjustable IPD.
The built-in loudspeaker has passed high-fidelity 3D spatial sound certification, and the glasses can be used with external speakers.
The new Vive Pro 2 can also be used with all Vive SteamVR accessories, including the new Vive tracker, the new Vive face tracker, any SteamVR controller, and more.
In terms of design, the new Vive Pro 2 is thinner and smaller than its predecessor.
If you want to upgrade to the original Vive Pro glasses, HTC is offering a special promotion on request for the first time because the glasses are sold separately (without an external console or tracker) for $ 749.
After the promotion, the price for standalone glasses will be $ 799.
The full-featured Vive Pro 2, including Base Station 2.0 and console, will be available on June 4 for $ 1,399.
