Windows 10 lets you tell Microsoft how to use your computer |
Windows 10 will soon give you several usage categories like games and business that will allow you to tell the operating system how you want to use the device.
In the latest version of Windows 10, the Personalization section under Device Usage displays a hidden settings screen that contains six different categories for planning device usage.
The device usage setting is optional. With this option enabled, you can select different classes that are compatible with using the following Windows 10 operating system:
- Games: Play and discover games and catch the news.
- Family: You can communicate with all family members, change security settings, and give everyone their own account using this device.
- Creativity: From novels and presentations to photos and videos, bring ideas to life.
- Homework: Take notes, write articles, and collaborate on projects.
- Entertainment: Watch videos, browse the web, and stay connected with social media platforms.
- Business: Track expenses, manage clients and manage your business.
After enabling categories, Windows 10 creates a registry key under each specified category.
People think that choosing a device usage category can cause Windows 10 to customize your system based on the selection, and they also believe that Microsoft provides recommendations and directions for apps based on the category.
However, the company released more information on this feature and stated that it can focus on providing advice and guidance through the Microsoft Advice app for now.
In the Preview 21354 release notes, the company said, "You can choose which way to use the device for personalized advice on tips, tools, and services."
Microsoft Directory supports this feature, with the categories included in the app's discussion series. Users want the company to add suggestions and adjust system parameters based on how the device is used.
