IOS 14.5 recalibrates the iPhone 11 battery

Apple's iOS 14.5 beta is being tested, which introduces a new process to recalibrate the Battery Health Report for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Apple will try to recalibrate the battery with the next OS update to correct battery usage and reduce performance issues on some iPhone 11 devices.

Symptoms of this error include unexpected battery discharge behavior or, in some cases, a decrease in the maximum power capacity. According to Apple, the incorrect battery status report does not reflect the actual condition of the cylinders.

As mentioned in the support document, Apple said: This update recalibrates the maximum battery capacity and the maximum power capacity of iPhone 11 models to fix incorrect estimates from battery health reports from some users.

This process will take place when you update your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max devices to the next iOS 14.5.

After installing the update, iPhone 11 users will see a message about the recalibration process in the battery health settings.

The battery health system may take several weeks to check the remaining battery capacity and power that can be delivered.

Although a message appeared in the Battery Health section of the Settings menu about what happened, it didn't seem like the user noticed much of a difference in the process.

The maximum capacity and the maximum power capacity are recalibrated during a normal charge cycle. This process may take several weeks and the maximum capacity ratio displayed will not change during the recalibration period.

After the recalibration is completed, the maximum capacity percentage and the maximum power capacity information will be updated. If recalibration indicates significant battery degradation, the user will be shown a service message.

Maximum capacity may have been updated for performance, but it might not be apparent to most users. If the previous battery degradation message is displayed, this message will be cleared after the update. Updated to iOS 14.5.

The process is currently being tested in the latest version of the Developer Beta. Since Apple has a support page for this process, there's a good chance you'll be in the final release.

In some cases, the recalibration process may fail and a battery service message will be displayed. Apple said: These affected batteries will be replaced free of charge to restore full performance and capacity.

If your iPhone 11 is experiencing battery issues, this process can help fix these issues when iOS 14.5 is released.

It is not uncommon for Apple to release battery replacement supplies prior to replacement. Since it was discovered that the bottleneck in the performance of the old iPhone is able to protect the performance of the battery power supply, the company has become more transparent about changing the battery on the iPhone power system. .
