| Evercade VS: An old-fashioned console game that keeps pace |
British company Blaze Entertainment launched Evercade VS, an old home gaming platform that uses proprietary tapes instead of SD cards or online services to play games.
The new platform was introduced after the release of the 2020 Evercade portable device, which connects to the TV via a mini HDMI connector. However, the 4.3-inch screen appears to be a better fit for older games on the go.
Evercade mobile devices let you play old games from Atari, Namco, and other companies on the big screen. Although the game supports this feature, it cannot be used for multiplayer games.
If you want to play with your friends and family, the new Evercade VS solves this problem, allowing up to four people to play with multiple local players using a single USB joystick.
The new platform feeds nearly all of the tapes on the old platform, but two of them can display the collections of the Namco Museum.
Therefore, you cannot play Pac-Man, Digger, Garraga and other games contained in cartridges licensed for mobile devices only.
You can also insert two cartridges at the same time that the device has a dual cartridge slot and interface that allows displaying up to 40 games at the same time.
Blaze Entertainment currently has over 260 games released in over 20 cartridges and plans to bring out more games in the future.
Evercade VS is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 512MB RAM and 1080p output.
The game console saves the saved and loaded data in the card box so you can resume the work you turned off the last time on your Evercade handheld device, and vice versa.
Unlike previous mobile devices, the current device has a wireless network connection for updates and any future online functionality provided by Blaze Entertainment.
