YouTube is testing automatic product recognition in videos

As one of the latest YouTube experiences, the video sharing platform hopes to go beyond the product's functionality in this video, which can automatically detect certain elements and generate video links to specific content.

YouTube is testing automated entries, which are products included in videos uploaded to the website.

According to YouTube, this test has been expanded to include people watching videos in the United States as of March 22 this year.

The first version of this feature was tested in the middle of last year, although testing was very limited.

Previous versions of the feature focused on external links to stores selling items in the videos. This experiment seems to focus on delivering more videos on specific products than YouTube can automatically discover.

A YouTube representative posted more details on introducing this specific feature on the blog: We are trying a new feature that will display a list of products included in specific videos and related products.

Added: This feature will be shown on the featured videos so that viewers can scroll under the video player. The purpose is to help users discover more videos and information about these products through YouTube.

This should be an initiative to include Google in the lucrative affiliate link market while linking transactions directly to video downloads.

These lists can be used as a second recommendation algorithm because YouTube offers videos with similar products.

This feature enables the YouTube platform to be placed in the same shopping area as other social platforms (such as Instagram).
