| TCL develops a hybrid phone with foldable and foldable screen |
TCL is developing a foldable and foldable hybrid phone that combines the two biggest trends in the current smartphone design.
The company is making its own screens and will start promoting its own brand for Android devices in early 2020. Despite the concept of the new device that combines these two screens, it has developed flexible and foldable OLED screens.
About twelve months ago, TCL introduced prototypes in development.
This includes a foldable tablet with two hinges that turn the phone into a larger tablet and a sliding device with a foldable side screen.
TCL said at the time, Conception is an experiment in shape and screen technology, and company executives have confirmed that they are just a sample of the group they are studying.
During CES 2021, the company unveiled a gradient version of the design, as well as a larger tablet version that could be turned into something resembling a small TV set.
A new version of the graphics developed by TCL is now available where the device - which will be officially unveiled in April - combines a foldable screen and a foldable screen.
The device uses a foldable screen and TCL's DragonHinge (a type of multi-gear hinge), which the Chinese company claims can produce a variety of foldable devices.
After expanding the device, users can remove the internal screen to expand the device further and then convert a small smartphone into a large tablet device.
Thus, the device can deliver a great tablet experience without having to take the beefy form of the company's previous dual prototype.
There is no indication whether TCL intends to put the design into production in the near future, or whether it will be seen as another opportunity to introduce the company's display manufacturing technology.
It is also said that these phones and their own availability details can be shown publicly during the TCL event, which will be held in April 2021.
The appeal of foldable devices is the ability to convert relatively small devices into larger devices, and the scrolling screen can add more appeal.
