Porsche has released the Taycan Crossover Turismo, which debuted as a concept car in 2018 and is slated for release this summer.
The car is a clone of the first electric Porsche Taycan with a tailgate, more cabin, more floor space and off-road options.
The price of the new Taycan Crossover Turismo starts at $ 90,900. As with the regular Taycan, there are four different versions with an improved price and improved performance:
- Taycan 4 Crossturismo: 280 kW (380 hp), increased start-up control 350 kW (476 hp), acceleration 0-100 km / h in 5.1 seconds, top speed 220 km / h, range 389 456 km in between.
- Taycan 4S Cross Turismo: 360 kW (490 hp), control output increased initially by 420 kW (571 hp), acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds, top speed is 240 km / h, ranges between 388 and 452 km in between.
- Taycan Turbo Crossover Turismo: 460 kW (625 hp), start-up control output increased to 500 kW (680 hp), acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds, top speed of 250 km / h, range of 395 to 452 km in between.
- Taycan Turbo S Crossturismo: 460 kW (625 hp), start-up control output increased by 560 kW (761 hp), acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, top speed of 250 km / h, range From 388 to 419 km.
Unlike the regular Taycan, all four versions of the Taycan Crossover Turismo are equipped with a 93.4 kW Porsche battery, two engines and an all-wheel drive system.
Compared to the Taycan sedan, the Cross Turismo offers up to 10 mm more room in the front seats and 92 mm more room in the rear seats.
Using the hatch means there's more space everywhere and the Cross Turismo is about half an inch longer than the car and about an inch longer.
While the front box size remains the same, the Cross Turismo also creates more cubic feet of storage space.
While Porsche hopes to make buyers feel as though they are dealing with uneven terrain, the Cross Turismo will not be an all-terrain vehicle compared to the upcoming Rivian or Hummer EV.
All four versions of the four crossovers were equipped with an adaptive air suspension with which it was possible to quickly increase the ground clearance by 10 mm in the pebble position.
Switching to this mode can also improve traction control, stability, and torque management, and make driving on soft surfaces such as mud, sand, and gravel easier.
In addition, the amenities or functions typical of Porsche (such as wireless Apple CarPlay) or similar improvements in the Taycan cars are not affected, for example: adaptive cruise control and lane keeping, head-up display, massage seats. Adjustable sound system and Bose and Burmester.
"We have added this off-road version to expand the range of all-electric sports cars in order to continue our continuous development towards sustainable travel," the company said.
