Sony announced the PSVR 2 with adaptive players |
Sony has released the PSVR 2, the new virtual reality console for the PS5.
The PSVR 2 looks more like a typical VR joystick than the current PlayStation Move sports joystick and features the same adaptive trigger technology as the PS5 DualSense controller.
The PSVR 2 plays an important role in delivering the virtual reality experience Sony strives to achieve as it aligns with the mission of achieving a deeper sense of existence and virtual reality experience.
The shape gives the joystick a natural grip and a high degree of freedom while playing. There are no restrictions on the type of hand movement, so developers can create a unique gaming experience.
With the new PSVR 2, players can experience and interact with the game in a deeper way.
"It allows you to make more natural gestures while gaming," said Hideaki Nishino, Director of Planning and Management for PlayStation.
These joysticks also include a tracker for Sony's new augmented reality glasses via a loop on the underside of the joystick.
These look better than what is currently available with the PS Move console, and have a better ergonomics as well.
"Sony's production, engineering and design teams have come together to create the new PSVR 2 from the ground up. The goal is to take a big step forward on current VR games," said Nishino.
He added: console prototypes are being mastered in virtual reality in the developer community, and we can't wait to see what ideas they have and how they can help the joystick turn their ideas into reality.
Sony has yet to showcase the design of the next generation of VR headsets for the PS5, but the company has found that it has an improved field of view, improved resolution, and even an enhanced cable to make it easier to use.
Sony has no plans to release virtual reality glasses for the PS5 in 2021, but the company is clearly ready to test with game developers as soon as possible.
It has a host of features, including the main features of the DualSense controller, which are in line with Sony's potential vision for the next generation of virtual reality games.
Adaptive Trigger: Each VR console has an adaptive trigger button. While pressing the button, the noticeable tension increases, like the DualSense joystick, when you get that mechanical experience. If applied to virtual reality, it will be magnified to the next level.
Haptic feedback: The new joystick has improved haptic feedback due to its dimensions, making every sense of the game world more robust, organized and accurate, and enhancing the extraordinary visual and audio experience necessary for virtual reality.
Finger touch detection: The joystick does not need to press your thumb, index finger or middle finger to recognize your finger, so you can make more natural gestures while reading.
Tracking: The new VR headset tracks the VR joystick through a tracking ring at the bottom of the joystick.
● Movement button: The left joystick contains analog joystick, triangle and square buttons, L1 handle button, L2 start button, and create button, while the right joystick contains analog joystick, cross buttons, and circular buttons in addition to the R1 knob button, R2 power switch and option switch.
