M1 ... a 165-inch foldable MicroLED TV |
Consumer electronics company C SEED introduced the M1 with a 165-inch screen that folds and folds onto the floor when not in use.
With the press of a button, the column silently rises off the ground and opens to reveal the massive 4K MicroLED screen mounted on an aluminum base.
The screen consists of five independent MicroLED panels. When held in place, it looks like a unified display with invisible seams.
The manufacturer said: MicroLED is brighter than OLED and has the same benefits of high contrast and deep blacks, but it doesn't burn any pixels.
The price of the M1 TV is 400,000 dollars. But the price does not include the installation costs as there is enough space to hide the TV under the floor.
The company said on its website, press the button to open the floor and the machine-shaped aluminum column will rise from the ground in seconds to form a 165-inch screen that will give users an immersive entertainment experience.
The M1 is expected to ship to customers in the third quarter of this year. According to C SEED, television is the next big step in home viewing, and it is an improvement over wall-mounted televisions.
Alexander Swatk, Managing Partner of C SEED, said, “In these environments, large wall-mounted TV screens are becoming obsolete in modern interior design. Therefore, C SEED has taken a completely different path and created a revolutionary design.
The M1 comes in a variety of colors including gold, black and silver, and can choose frames to suit all tastes, space requirements and settings.
"The M1 provides superior quality and unique entertainment without compromising spatial characteristics. It is the only ideal solution to integrate a large TV system into a spacious and modern interior," said Swatik.
MicroLED displays rely on millions of small self-illuminating units that emit red, green and blue light and together create stunning, vivid colors.
Some big tech companies like Apple and Samsung are hoping MicroLED displays will replace today's best OLED displays.
MicroLED addresses the common problem of pixel embossing in OLED screens that can occur if a still image is placed on the screen for too long.
However, MicroLED cannot currently be folded like an OLED TV screen. So C SEED built five foldable MicroLED panels that, however, look like a screen when combined.
In addition to the capabilities of LCD and OLED displays, the company said the latest 4K MicroLED technology can also reproduce stunningly vivid color and excellent resolution.
