BMW reveals the appearance of the i4 electric vehicle |
For many years, BMW has been excited about the upcoming vehicle as the successor to the i3 electric car and has revealed the debut of its first electric sedan, the i4.
The company announced that the i4 will hit the streets later this year - to complete the plan earlier than expected. BMW has announced that it will also bring the M Performance model to the market.
The German carmaker presented the i4 at an annual company meeting, then announced all the details of the electric vehicle in the coming weeks.
BMW currently shares only some specifications, the BMW i4 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in about 4 seconds.
The company said: The i4 will offer different versions covering a range of 590 km. A single engine has a power of 390 kW (about 530 hp).
This is very in line with BMW's detailed description in the i4 demo, which only appeared in digital form until the 2020 Geneva Motor Show last year.
If the production of the i4 is the same as the concept version, it should be powered by an 80 kW battery.
As for the interior, the use of the new version of the iDrive and BMW infotainment system, released earlier this week, is known.
BMW explained its plan to convert the car into an electric motor.
The company plans to sell at least one electric vehicle in 90% of the market by 2023 and deliver 2 million EVs by the end of 2025.
The company expects to increase the number of electric cars sold by 20% annually from 2025 to 2030. The company now expects that half of all new cars sold will be electric cars.
Compared to products previously introduced by BMW, this is more optimistic about the popularity of electric cars, especially since it took many years for the i3 to become the only electric vehicle on the market.
Although BMW launched the iX3 SUV in Europe and China, the i4 will still be the company's pioneer in the production of electric vehicles.
Compared to other automakers, this is a less aggressive strategy, especially as there are more and more bans on new fuel-powered vehicles.
