Apple Mixed Reality glasses will be available from mid-2022 |
*Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, said in a new research report that Apple plans to launch its long-rumored mixed reality glasses in mid-2022, then launch augmented reality glasses in 2025.
We expect Apple's roadmap for mixed reality and augmented reality products to include three major milestones: eyeglasses by 2022, eyeglasses by 2025, and contact lenses by 2030 to 2040.
Analysts believe that headphone products can offer augmented reality and virtual reality experiences while glasses and regular contact lenses can focus on augmented reality applications.
“Many current prototypes of Apple mixed reality glasses weigh between 200 and 300 grams. However, if Apple can fix the technical issues, the final weight should be reduced to 100 to 200 grams, which is better than many models,” Guo said. Much lighter virtual reality glasses.
Given the intricate design, Kuo expects the glasses to fetch around $ 1,000 in the US, which is the price of a flagship iPhone.
According to previous rumors, Guo said: The speaker will be equipped with Sony's small OLED screen and multiple optical modules to enable a seamless augmented reality experience. Glasses can also offer a virtual reality experience.
Guo said the glasses will be portable, with independent computing and storage functions, but not as light as the iPhone.
“As technology evolves, we believe that new eyeglass products can also improve mobility,” he added.
Kuo believes that Apple headphones have the potential to provide a better experience when compared to current virtual reality products.
As for Apple's augmented reality glasses, Guo Mingo shouldn't hit the market until 2025 at the earliest and he thinks there's no prototype yet.
Guo said that compared to mixed reality glasses, this type of glasses provides an augmented reality visual experience and is positioned as a portable product.
He added: While the headset offers a great experience, the glasses focus more on providing an augmented reality experience for a mobile phone experience.
Kuo hopes to combine Apple glasses with a long-discussed Apple car, which could take several years.
Kuo looks to the future and expects the company to release contact lenses after 2030. He said: This product brings electronic products from visible time to invisible computers.
