YouTube permanently shuts down its websites for content creators Spaces

YouTube assured that its permanent storage space should provide resources and networking opportunities for content producers. However, after the pandemic spreads, YouTube will not reopen.

As the pandemic pushes tech companies to engage in remote work on a large scale, the demand for large physical web sites of internet companies may soon become obsolete.

Instead, YouTube has said it will be a hybrid model that combines popups and virtual events and will not reopen the Spaces website in Berlin, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.

Although it was this epidemic that made YouTube switch to standard mode, the spacewalk has been going on for at least two years.

A 2019 report indicated that the company is moving to temporary pop-up sites in order to be able to flexibly serve creators in a larger region.

The company said at the time: It was preparing to close its permanent Spaces sites in Mumbai and Toronto and instead provide services to Popup sites.

According to the company, the batch of default events and YouTube popup sites has reached tens of thousands of creators.

YouTube said: YouTube hosted more than 1,000 virtual events last year and the event was attended by more than 70,000 people from 145 countries.

As of 2016, 45 pop-up events in 20+ cities have attracted more than 15,000 creators.

The company said, "We believe this new flexible strategy can allow us to explore more areas and give them the direction and resources they need to advance in their careers. This provides more options for beginners as well as existing creators and artists. This has a positive effect."

YouTube has broadcast virtual #YouTubeBlack shows to black artists this year in the US, UK, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Brazil and Australia.

The company continues to invest in NextUp programs for emerging content creators in Russia, Japan, the Philippines, and Germany.

There are likely to be live and recorded webinars. YouTube said: Once the personal event is securely hosted again, the event will resume and experience the popup.

YouTube Spaces was launched in 2012 to provide content creators a professional studio with SLR camera, green screen, and lighting equipment.
