Samsung is developing laptops with Exynos processors |
Samsung plans to release a new Windows 10 laptop with its own Exynos system and integrated AMD Radeon graphics chip.
According to a report by ZDNet Korea, ARM architecture-based laptops could be launched later this year.
The MacBook Pro with the M1 processor and the MacBook Air with the M1 indicate that the laptops are ARM ready, but Windows with similar performance is not yet available.
Samsung could change that by building internal processors that mimic Apple's little AMD help with graphics.
The partnership between Samsung and AMD has already started in 2019 with the clear goal of bringing AMD Radeon graphics technology to Samsung smartphones.
It's easy to see how the Radeon graphics laptops stand out from this partnership.
Exynos chips have long been the backbone of Samsung phones and tablets, including the Samsung Galaxy S21.
The report mentions a new laptop system called the Exynos 2200.
While Samsung manufactures laptop screens, memory, batteries, and storage devices, it does not include any other specifications.
However, it can capture the OLED laptop screen that it launched in January.
It should be noted that this type of laptop won't be the first ARM-based laptop to be included in Windows 10 architecture like Samsung's first ARM-based laptop with Windows 10 last year.
However, the Galaxy Book S uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx processor instead of Samsung's proprietary processor technology.
A more detailed design can help bridge the performance gap between current ARM Windows 10 laptops and MacBooks with M1 processors.
As the report explains, Samsung is expected to announce this laptop in the second half of 2021. This is a statement shortly after the upcoming Galaxy Note release. Samsung is reportedly still studying him despite earlier rumors of his death.
