An integrated AIS future
With an integrated AIS receiver, the IC-M506 can display AIS ship traffic information on the screen. The AIS Target Call feature makes it easy to set up a single DSC call. Tracking, Target and Hazard List can be activated on screen. Only for M506-21 and M506-41 versions
NMEA2000® and NMEA 0183 connection
With the NMEA 2000 Plug and Play function on the NMEA2000 model, the IC-M506 can easily connect to the NMEA 2000 network and communicate with other devices. NMEA 0183 input / output can also be used for external GPS / NAV interface. The M506-01 contains only NMEA 0183.
Record the sound of the last call
The last call recorder feature automatically records the last two minutes of the last call. You can also start recording manually.
Active Noise Reduction
Built-in bi-directional active noise cancellation can reduce background noise by up to 90% and improve sending and receiving of calls.
25W two-way high heels
When connected to a Heeler outdoor speaker, you can talk to people on the bridge or at the beach with a wireless microphone and hear people's reactions through the Hailer speaker. Fog horn and reception functions can also be used.
COMMANDMIC ™ HM-195B / SW optional
Optional COMMANDMIC HM-195B / SW provides a second shutdown function and the IC-M506 can be operated from a separate cab or turret. Most functions, including DSC and AIS functions, can be controlled from COMMANDMIC and used as a wireless communication device between IC-M506 and COMMANDMIC.

The IC-M506 is equipped with a 132 x 96 pixel matrix display larger than the IC-M504 (132 x 64 pixels). Reading GPS, AIS and DSC listings is easier than ever.
