Qualcomm announces the launch of the X65 5G modem for the next few phones |
Qualcomm announced the latest Snapdragon X65 5G modem, the successor to last year's Snapdragon X60, which was just added to the device as part of the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
In addition to the X65 5G, the company has released a number of 5G products that manufacturers can use to greatly increase data transfer speeds and enable new use cases for next-generation devices.
The list of products includes the Snapdragon X62 5G modem, the new mmWave module, a number of new front-end RF solutions, etc.
Qualcomm is pledging that the new X65 5G modem will provide faster download speeds and support speeds of up to 10Gbps on standalone and non-5G networks. This makes it the first RF modem system to achieve these speeds.
The new 10Gb / s maximum download speed is higher than the 7.5Gbps on the previous year's model.
The X65 5G is also the first modem to support 3GPP 5G NR version 16. This is the second set of specifications to encourage the expansion and spread of 5G NR around the world.
The modem also has a scalable architecture that allows the company to add new features to 3GPP 16 that can be quickly delivered through software updates.
This is known as the start of the second phase of 5G, which aims to improve other features such as massive MIMO connections, power consumption, etc.
3GPP 16th Edition also aims to help consumers transform 5G networks for more commercial uses, and better support unlicensed frequencies and non-public networks.
In addition to the new modem system, Qualcomm also announced the launch of the Qualcomm 545 mmWave antenna, which is a fourth generation mmWave antenna.
Qualcomm 545 mmWave maintains the same size as the 3G model, but increases transmission power and supports the entire global mmWave frequency range.
Qualcomm introduces the so-called artificial intelligence antenna tuning technology, which aims to make a huge leap in performance using artificial intelligence technology.
Qualcomm says it will increase the accuracy of your new mobile phone's detection system by 30%, so using more efficient connections will improve connectivity, faster data speeds, and longer battery life.
It may take some time for the X65 5G to appear on any device. It won't appear until next year the flagship Snapdragon processor, which will be announced in December, will be released.
Snapdragon X65 5G is expected to hit the market in late 2021.
