Owlcam launches a smart car camera that can improve night vision |
Owlcam launched a new smart car camera for $ 270. The camera is equipped with an infrared sensor for night shots instead of the strong light from the previous model.
New results confirm Owlcam's troubled history is far from over.
The company was founded in 2018 and was originally the manufacturer of the dashboard for Andy Hodge. The camera is equipped with LTE technology and the smart camera is supported by Apple iPad.
The company had a tumultuous start, went out of business at the end of 2019 and restarted last year under the leadership of the new owners Callpass and Xirgo.
Owlcam 5.0 is the latest in safety on board. This is a camera-based and cloud-based setup in which existing functions such as in-car and outdoor photo capture can be expanded and additional functions can be added.
The camera has unlimited LTE connections so you can download videos for $ 20 a month or $ 192 a year.
The camera also has 160GB of internal storage and can record 160 hours of HD video.
There is also cloud-based storage that can automatically record videos of people, cars, trespassing, accidents, or other problems with your vehicle.
The camera is equipped with an infrared sensor to improve the night vision in the car. Even if the car is completely surrounded by darkness, it can still record live shows and video recordings.
Voice commands that the camera responds to include commands to start recording when someone interacts with the police, and all subsequent photos are automatically saved in the cloud.
In addition, there is a WiFi mode that allows you to transfer documents directly to your phone. However, you must have subscribed to Owlcam's LTE for at least a month to enable this feature.
The only current solution is to give new customers to the company the opportunity to register for at least a month. You are not bound by any contract and can activate and deactivate subscriptions as needed.
If an accident is detected, the camera can also automatically call and alert emergency services. An emergency button and other safety tools have been added to the Owlcam mobile app.
