Aurora 7 .. a laptop that includes 7 screens |
British company Expanscape released a laptop prototype called the Aurora 7. The laptop has six additional screens that extend in all directions from the home screen, displaying each window screen and its applications.
Additionally, the hinges found on many laptops don't work well with a single smart screen, let alone seven.
In addition to the 17.3-inch main screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, there are three other screens of the same size and resolution.
Above the left and right screens is a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels mounted in the palm rest.
The prototype weighs around 12 kilograms, is 4.3 inches thick and has a mid-range Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU that can power up to four 4K displays.
The Aurora 7 has 2 TB of hard drive space and an additional 2.5 TB of SSD storage, plus all the ports you might need.
It also houses an Intel Core i9-9900K processor and 64GB of RAM. More specifications can be found here.
In future releases, Expanscape hopes to use the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 instead of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 and provide AMD Ryzen 9 3950x or Intel i9-10900K processor options.
The Aurora 7 was primarily designed as a mobile operator safe terminal, and the current battery prototype can only be used for one hour.
The computer uses an 82-watt internal battery and an internal secondary 148-watt battery to power other displays, bypassing FAA statutory aircraft restrictions.
Expanscape said, "They are working hard to fix this issue in future prototypes. In other words, the company is committed to giving you the opportunity to have a seven-screen laptop on a plane."
Compared to Razer's Project Valerie three-screen laptop, the Aurora 7 feels tougher around the edges, but Expanscape says it's ready to sell prototypes of the notebook.
It can help those interested in purchasing a computer, Expanscape said, to retain the prototype. As for the price, the company requires you to sign a nondisclosure agreement that prohibits you from sharing the price publicly.
