ThinkPad X12 Detachable ... laptop with a detachable screen |
Lenovo has announced the launch of its new ThinkPad X12 detachable 12.3-inch business laptop with a detachable screen for use as a tablet.
The screen is a 12.3-inch Windows 10 tablet, and you can attach or disconnect the keyboard.
There is a stand on the back of the screen that can work independently and it is also compatible with Lenovo Precision Pen and Digital Pen.
Lenovo wants this form factor to give more flexibility to business users. So, if you are in a meeting or classroom and need to run a presentation from a computer, you can separate the screen without a keyboard.
Even with the keyboard installed, portability remains a selling point as the tablet is less than 9mm thick and weighs just 1.1kg with the keyboard installed.
The protective cover also supports to work with LTE Cat9 anytime, anywhere. Lenovo said: It has passed MIL-SPEC 810G testing to ensure it is durable enough to withstand drops and drops while traveling.
Despite the shape of the tablet, the ThinkPad X12 Detachable is still essentially a laptop because it has a laptop chipset and is supported by an 11th generation Intel Core vPro processor and Iris Xe graphics. Integrated, hence the Intel vPro platform offers many security functions to business users.
As with other specifications, up to 16 GB of LPDDR4x storage and 1 TB of NVMe SSD storage are available.
There's a Thunderbolt 4 port, USB 3.2 Type-C port, NanoSIM, and an audio port, while the ThinkPad X12 Detachable has a 3: 2 aspect ratio the same size as the Surface Pro 7 and Surface Book 3 themselves.
For many users looking for a ThinkPad convertible, the detachable X12 might be a more reasonable choice than the $ 2,500 ThinkPad X1 Fold laptop.
The ThinkPad X12 detachable is expected to be available from $ 1,150 in January 2021.
