The telegram platform provides the possibility to import chats from WhatsApp. So if you want to change your messaging service, you won't lose any previous conversations.
In iOS, the functionality is being delivered with version 7.4, but it doesn't look like the update has arrived on Android.
Although the platform has not officially announced a new migration tool, some users can still access it through the latest version of the app.
Besides WhatsApp, you can also import chats from Line and KakaoTalk based on Telegram's changelog.
For users switching from WhatsApp to Telegram, being able to forward chat with them means removing barriers to sending.
The import process applies to personal and group WhatsApp chats
To import a chat from WhatsApp, open the relevant chat and tap on the group or contact name to open its information screen.
The "Export chat" option opens the iOS sharing page. You will see the option "Select Telegram" and then simply "Telegram Chat" where the messages will be imported.
Imported messages are provided with a small 'Imported' label indicating the original date of transmission and the time they were brought to the telegram. All chat participants can see the message.
You can import WhatsApp chat history with or without pictures. Imported messages appear in the order they were imported, not the order they were originally sent.
