Microsoft is developing a digital vaccination record |
A consortium of medical and tech companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, and Salesforce is working on a plan to make it easier for people to digitally access their coronavirus vaccination records.
Since people have already been vaccinated against the Coronavirus, they may need to prove that they have been vaccinated before they can return to work, go to school, or travel. They can also obtain easily accessible digital vaccination reports. Help.
The coalition is called the Immunization Data Initiative (VCI). According to the press release, the coalition's vision is to give individuals the ability to store encrypted digital copies of their immunization data in a digital wallet of their choice.
If you do not want to use a smartphone, you can get items with a QR code containing verifiable data.
According to the VCI Alliance, it generates data using the SMART Health Card specification, which people can use to store vaccination information or laboratory results in a digital wallet.
The VCI press release does not provide a timeline of when organizations using the coronavirus vaccine will make these records. Thus, it is not clear when records can be added to the digital wallet.
Since the paper cards received from the Americans record the time they received the coronavirus vaccine, it is not known how or whether these records will be converted to the VCI Alliance digital standard.
Another obstacle could be the participation of health centers, as some service providers may have more resources than others to integrate this data into the vaccination process.
According to reports, the VCI Alliance is not the first to consider registering a digital coronavirus vaccine. Similar efforts have been made to develop the existing vaccine list template required by some countries.
These vaccines have been shown to be resistant to diseases such as yellow fever or polio. In October, Estonia and the World Health Organization began developing digital certificates for vaccines against the Coronavirus.
