Honor V 40: the first Honor phone after its separation from Huawei

Honor has announced its new flagship Honor V 40, the first mobile phone since Huawei sold the brand to a Chinese partner.

The phone is currently only sold in China, but the V-Series is usually introduced to other parts of the world under the View branding.

The Honor V 40 features a 6.72-inch curved OLED display with a resolution of 2676 x 1236 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 800 nits brightness and HDR10 support.

It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor, and offers 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.1 storage.

There is a 4000 mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly at 50W or wired with a 66W cable. Fingerprint reader integrated into the screen.

The rear camera contains 50MP main lens, 8MP wide angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and a laser unit for better focus. 16MP lens fitted in the frame. Front camera.

Due to massive pressure and the difficulty of ensuring the correct supply chain, Huawei announced the sale of Honor in November.

Although Honor operates independently of Huawei, many of its technologies (such as Kirin processors) are dependent on the parent company.

This means that it faces the same number of sanctions as the US, which prevents US companies from doing business with Huawei.

After Huawei retires from Honor, Honor View 40, the international version of Honor V 40, may be able to attract users through regular Google services.

With Huawei's departure, Honor should be able to offer Google services to its next few phones (including the Google Play Store).

This allows Honor to sell phones in Western markets without relying on Huawei's AppGallery, which is still unable to compete with Google Play stores outside of China as there is no Google.

At the same time, Honor no longer has the advantage of relying on Huawei's supply chain. Once the mobile phone has been launched elsewhere, it must strive to build its strong brand.

The phone is currently on sale in China for $ 550 (8GB RAM and 128GB storage), while it is priced at $ 620, which is twice the storage capacity of 256GB.
