Apple developed a new MacBook Air with MagSafe charging |
Apple is developing a MacBook Air that is thinner and lighter, and according to Bloomberg, the new computer is expected to hit the market in the second half of this year or 2022.
The new MacBook Air includes Apple's MagSafe Charging technology and the company's next-generation Mac processor.
Apple also discussed reducing the size of the upgraded laptop by reducing the bezel around the screen (to keep the screen size at 13 inches).
Apple had considered making a larger version of the MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen, but the company scrapped those plans.
MagSafe, removed from the design of the new MacBook Air 2018, is a magnetic charging system. So if you accidentally pull the power cord, it will unplug it from the laptop instead of removing the computer entirely.
The new model contains two USB 4 ports. The new laptop is expected to be an upgrade to the current MacBook Air, and this product is expected to remain in the company's product line.
The latest product update was from Apple in November and it replaced Intel processors with its M1 Mac chip.
A few years ago, the company was criticized for not properly updating computers and not paying attention to customer needs.
In addition to the new MacBook Air, Apple is also planning the largest update to the MacBook Pro since 2016. This is the first redesign of the iMac in the past decade, along with the new Mac Pro powered by Intel processors.
The upcoming MacBook Pro is an example of Apple's renewed customer focus. There are plans to reposition the SD card slot for the upcoming MacBook Pro so that users can insert the memory card into the digital camera.
This feature expired in 2016, much to the annoyance of professional photographers and videographers. It is a large part of the MacBook Pro user base.
The Touch Bar will also expire (the Touch Bar in the current model).
Apple also developed basic Mac support for cellular communications and the ability of Macs to connect to the Internet using smartphone networks, in addition to the company's Face ID, but none of it. It looks like it started soon.
